How blood sugar
level is maintained in human beings?
There are three processes by which blood sugar level is
maintained in human body-
1-Production
2-Utilization
3-Conversion
Production- What
we eat mainly Carbohydrates & Sugars all are converted into Glucose by the
Liver.
Utilization-This
produced glucose goes for various purposes through cellular uptake to peripheral tissues.
Conversion-Insulin
(a hormone, secreted through pancreas) helps for cellular uptake as well as for
its conversion to other components like triglycerides, nucleic acid & others
important for protein synthesis.
In a healthy person, all these processes occurs normally,& blood sugar level
returns to normal within 1 hour of diet intake, but when these processes are disturbed the level of sugar in blood is also affected. If
it continues for a long period Diabetes Originates.
